Chris has more than 30 years of experience in dentistry, in 2006 he graduated from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons London with the Advanced Diploma in Implant Dentistry. He has placed over 2500 implants with a success rate of 99%.
With a wealth of experience, both in the UK and overseas, in the provision of high quality dental solutions, implant dentistry became the focus of his professional interests in 2004. Chris was one of the first dentists to qualify with the Diploma in Advanced Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons London in 2006.
Chris constantly strives to improve his skills and maintain his position at the forefront of Implant Dentistry in the UK. In 2011 he was privileged to be successful in assessment for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, the pinnacle of the faculty career pathway. He is passionate about keeping up to date with new techniques and technology. More recently he has undertaken surgical training in 'ground breaking' bone grafting techniques at The University of Vienna Medical School. He has also worked on developing new skills in the field of 3D imaging.
Well respected amongst his colleagues in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, he works with over 20 local practitioners, who value his skill and expertise and entrust Chris with the provision of dental implant treatments for their patients. Several are being trained and mentored by Chris in the restoration of dental implants.
Chris also works with Portman Healthcare as Implantologist in West Wales, Somerset and on the Isle of Wight, delivering high quality implant treatments within prestigious private practices.
Continuously investing in the latest technology, he recently equipped his practice with 'state of the art' Dental CT scanner, delivering 3D X-ray imaging, which when used in conjunction with advanced computer technology delivers the safest and most predictable way of planning implant surgery.

Martina studied at the Palacky University Dental School in the Czech Republic and graduated in 2011, moving to Brighton after gaining a Senior House
officer post for the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals. Martina trained in all aspects of Maxillofacial and Surgical Dentistry before returning
to practice General Dentistry in Bicester.
During her time in Bicester, she started studying for her ITI foundation year in implant dentistry. This marked the beginning of her interest in Implant dentistry and was the first stage of a progression to qualify as an implant dentist. Martina placed her first implants during this first stage of her implant training, under Chris’s supervision.
Martina joined the Chris Wood Dental Implants team in 2014 as an Associate Implantologist and has been developing her expertise in implant dentistry ever since.
In 2018 she successfully gained her Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons, a great personal and professional achievement - not least because she was one of only three implant surgeons to qualify so far from her year group.
She is now a fully qualified Implant Surgeon, with one of the most highly respected implant qualifications in the UK, accepting referrals ‘in her own right’. Chris and Martina work as a team on more complex cases, when she enjoys learning from Chris’s many years of experience in Implantology.
Martina intends to continue developing her skills, in 2019 she will study a postgraduate Masterclass in implant regenerative techniques at world renowned professor Istvan Urban’s Regeneration Institute in Budapest, and will attend Implant Symposia and Congresses across Europe to ensure she keeps up to date with the latest techniques and research.
